The best Dinner EVER

I have a story to tell.  I have worked hard, really hard, for the past 3 weeks and haven’t had a day off.   My betrothed, Gordon, usually works nights and has a really odd schedule.  It just so happens that after my last catering of the week, a cocktail/appetizer party where I served fun, fancy stuff like Smoked Trout Mousse on Cucumber Cups and Edible Orchids, I drove home, in a daze, exhausted.  It was 8:30pm.  I have been feeding people fancy food for it seems forever, and I stumble into the house just ready to collapse, and Gordon meets me at the door with a good bourbon in a beautiful crystal glass, 2 cubes ( just the way I like it) and directs me to our deck, where the grill is fired up and Beer Marinated Brats and Mets are grilling alongside the buns, and his homemade chili is at the ready to top them, with some stone ground mustard and diced onions.  Served with a light spinach salad, I’ve got to say this was the best meal I’ve had in a long time … not only because it was delicious, but because I didn’t have to make it!!! – Lula
